PlayerPRO Development
Help the PlayerPRO development!
Now that PlayerPRO has been open-sourced, the way to enhance, rewrite and port PlayerPRO is being paved. You can download the source here (offsite download link). If you're interested in helping the development, let us know in the development boards on our forum. Thanks for your interest!
What is PlayerPRO?
PlayerPRO offers everything for you to compose, track, and sample music quickly and cheaply on your Mac. Download and get started.
Quality sound
PlayerPRO supports 44KHz, 16-bit, stereo sound. It uses a MOD-like file format called MAD. MAD goes far beyond MOD, and supports 256 instruments (consisting of maximum 64 samples each), 99 tracks, support for applying VST plugins in realtime and more! PlayerPRO even allows oversampling up to 32 times -- giving you a sound you've never heard before.
Edit it your way
PlayerPRO supports three ways to compose and edit your music, including Digital Editor and Classical Editor. No additonal hardware required to compose, edit or play songs! For sound editing, PlayerPRO offers dozens of built-in sound effects, and supports virtually every VST plug on the market. You can even apply them in realtime, on specific tracks or the whole song, and change the settings on the fly! Check the links section for some neat free VST plugs.
View it your way
PlayerPRO has many ways of viewing music, including Tools view, Spectrum view, Oscilloscope view, Pattern view, Piano view, and many others. Oh yes, you can use your favourite SoundJam and iTunes visual plugins, too. Check the links page for a couple of nice SoundJam plugins.
Listen to anything you want
PlayerPRO can handle a of different file formats, including MAD, MOD, MED, IT, S3M, OCTA, 669, XM, and other tracker formats, as well as MIDI. Supported sound formats include AAC, AIFF, AIFC, WAV, MP3, and MINS, to name a few, as well as every sound format supported by QuickTime, including AAC! Take a look at the full list of supported file formats.
Development Kit
The PlayerPRO Development Kit allows you to incorporate a music driver in your applications and games. Mac OS and Windows are supported! Ambrosia Software's excellent pop-pop game is a good example (and fun to play). Check out the download page!
